The Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards continues its commitment to honor the cream of the crop in agriculture journalism – writers and storytellers who are dedicated to the development of Philippine agriculture. With bigger and more exciting prizes, the 3rd Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards is now open to all works published or broadcast from June 15, 2008 to May 15, 2009.

The contest is open to all professional Filipino journalists residing in the Philippines, 18 years old and above and with a passion for journalistic excellence. All entries, either news or features, must focus on topics related to Agriculture in the Philippines.

Entries should be in English or Filipino. Works in other Philippine regional dialects will also be accepted, provided that the entry is accompanied by a translation in English.

AWARDS GUIDELINES
The Bright Leaf Awards is open to all amateur and professional Filipino Journalists residing in the Philippines, who are 18 years old and above with a passion for excellence in journalism. All entries, either news or feature must focus on topics related to Agriculture in the Philippines. All entries to the Photo category should not be subjected to any of the computer graphic image (CGI) enhancements including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Picture Manager, Apple Aperture and Adobe Lightroom.

Entries can be in English, Filipino or any Philippine language, provided that entries not written in English must be accompanied by an English translation.

All entries will be subjected to a preliminary judging to assess both technical accuracy and journalistic excellence. Only those who pass the requirements of the Preliminary Selection will be deemed qualify for Final Selection Process.

Print Media
  • Fully accomplished entry form - download pdf
  • One (1) hardcopy, Arial font, size 12 and double spaced with only the title of the entry on the upper left hand corner of the first page. The document should NOT include the contestant's real name, address, and other personal information.
  • One (1) hardcopy of English translation if original story is written in Filipino or in any of the other Philippine languages.
  • One (1) scanned, photocopied or actual copy of published entry –the whole page of the publication where the article was published. This copy will be kept solely by the Secretariat as proof of publication

Photography
  • Fully accomplished entry form - download pdf
  • One (1) hardcopy entry, 8R in size
  • One (1) softcopy of entry in JPEG format (submitted in a CD or Diskette)
  • One (1) scanned, photocopied or actual copy of published entry – the whole page of the publication where the article was published. This copy will be kept solely by the Secretariat as proof of publication.
  • The contestant's real name, address, and other personal information must NOT appear on any of the pages of an entry

Radio
  • Fully accomplished entry form - download pdf
  • A compilation of at least four (4) episodes of the program/segment
  • One (1) hardcopy, ARIAL font, size 12 and double space with ONLY the title of the entry on the upper left hand corner of the first page. The document should NOT include the contestant's real name, address, and the other personal information.
  • One (1) softcopy of English translation if original program/segment is broadcasted in Filipino or in other Philippine languages.
  • One (1) Taped-on-Air (TOA) copy as proof of broadcast in CD format. This copy will be kept solely by the Secretariat as proof of publication.

Television
  • Fully accomplished entry form - download pdf
  • A compilation of at least four (4) episodes of the program/segment
  • One (1) hardcopy and (1) softcopy of audio transcript and video guide in MS WORD format, ARIAL font, size 12 and double space with ONLY the title of the entry on the upper left hand corner of the first page. The document should NOT include the contestant's real name, address, and other personal information.
  • One (1) softcopy of English translation if original program/segment is broadcasted in Filipino or in other Philippine languages.
